Medit

Goal

A markdown editor for opening a .md file, editing it with live inline formatting (headings, bold, italic, code), and saving straight back to the same file on disk — no download folder involved. This is the primary .md file editor in the toolbox, separate from Writer.

Current state

Built and working in Chrome/Edge via the File System Access API (true open-edit-save-in-place). Other browsers fall back to a read-only open plus a manual download you drag back over the original.

Notes

Single-file HTML app — no build step, no server.
No autosave — saving is a manual, explicit action that overwrites the opened file.
