Reflow
Goal
Unwrap hard-wrapped markdown/text paragraphs into one continuous line per paragraph, matching this repo's no-hard-wrap documentation convention (see CLAUDE.md for the full rule). Paste text or open a .md/.txt file, click Reflow, and get output with every prose paragraph and list item on its own single line. Code fences, tables, and headings are left untouched.
Safety
Every reflow is checked automatically: the tool compares the input and output with all whitespace collapsed and ignored, and only reports success if they're identical — meaning no word was added, removed, reordered, or changed, only where the line breaks fall. If that check fails (unusual structure like nested lists or blockquotes can trip it up), it says so instead of pretending the output is safe, and it's worth reviewing the result by hand before using it.
Notes
- Single-file HTML app — no build step, no server.
- Uses the File System Access API (Chrome/Edge) to save straight back to the opened file; other browsers download the reflowed text instead.
- This started as a one-off Node script used to reflow this repo's own docs (see
KNOWN-ISSUES.md) — it's the same algorithm, ported to run entirely client-side.
Changelog
- v1 — initial build.
