Screbbla
Goal
A coach for real-world word-tile board games. You type in the board and your rack, a solver finds and ranks every legal play, and the app can export the position as a prompt to paste into Claude for strategy and blocking advice.
Current state
Built and working. Everything runs in your browser: no accounts, no server, no analytics.
- Exact move generation on a 15x15 board, with cross-words, blanks, premium squares and the 50-point bingo bonus.
- Calculator mode by default: tap a square and type tiles straight onto the board (tap the same square again to switch across/down). Optional play-by-play mode in Settings tracks scores and turns.
- Equity ranking (score plus a heuristic value for the tiles you keep) and an optional defense check that samples opponent racks.
- Unseen-tile tracker, bag estimate and undo.
- Autosave, multiple named games, save points, JSON export and import for single games and full backups.
- Settings for theme, default players, moves shown, ranking, defense strength and the Claude prompt.
Using it
- Put tiles on the board: tap a square and type. Use
?before a letter for a blank. - Your turn: type your rack (
?is a blank), tap Find moves, tap a play to preview it, optionally Check defense, then Place on board. - Strategy help: tap Copy for Claude and paste the result into a chat.
Word list
The bundled word list (words.txt) is a public-domain placeholder and is missing some newer words such as QI, ZA, EW and OK. To match your table's dictionary, load your own list under Settings > Word list. It is kept in this browser only and is not part of backups.
Notes
- Games and settings live in this browser's localStorage under keys starting with
screbbla-. Export before clearing site data or switching devices. - No exchange or pass advice and no endgame solver yet. Leave values are static heuristics, and the defense check uses a small random sample.

Changelog
- v1 โ migrated into the toolbox from the standalone Scrabble Coach app and renamed Screbbla.
